Tech Job Market in 2011

In 2010 the tech job market was hurting but showed signs of finally coming out of the multi-year recession. In 2011 this trend was confirmed when the technology jobs market rebounded. Lately high-tech advisors have been advising companies to hire back U.S. or European IT workers and as far as IT is concerned things are improving rapidly.

On the plus side there are several pockets of demand for skilled IT workers, although many tech jobs such as those in tech support and systems administration still remain under threat. One recent indication is a 5 percent rise in IT spending, which indicates positive momentum among large companies.

Tech salary trends are also finally starting to rebound.

As far as hot tech verticals, demand for cloud-oriented tech experts is way up. Tech recruiting firms are also seeing strong demand for network admins, IT security managers and systems engineers.

Other hot areas are software architects, Java developers and .Net developers, project managers, quality assurance pros, agile-capable developers, AJAX developers, and SAP consultants. Mobile app development and game development has also gotten to be white hot and salaries for these specific positions have sky-rocketed.

Overall tech recruiting trends, engineering and tech jobs will stay stable in number in 2011, with good gains. Despite the late recession and effects of global outsourcing, HR managers still puts tech as one of the top fields of study for students to pursue (the other being healthcare).
Contract and journeyman positions such as help desk support, software coding, web development, PHP Programmer Jobs, Graphic Designer Jobs, software developers, AJAX Developer Jobs and Database Administrator Jobs are increasingly being moved back to the United States or to automated systems.
